About Us

XCEL Church started life as an informal weekly group which had itself grown out of an Alpha Course. After meeting together for several years the need emerged to provide a more public venue to which those who had little or no experience of “Church” could be invited without feeling intimidated. There was also a growing need to provide a time for our kids to come together. So, about 2 years, ago XCEL Church was born!

Teaching sessions at XCEL are shared between John Gordon and Steve Taylor. John was born and brought up on the Isle of Skye and has served the wider church in a variety of roles for many years. Steve has lived and worked in Skye for over 17 years and been involved in various aspects of Christian work and ministry for over 30 years.

XCEL Church is an independent group – we are not linked with any denomination. However in heart we are linked with many around the world who have a passion to reach their generation with the message of God’s love and mercy.
