
Loch Beag Bed and Breakfast is located in the crofting township of Fivepenny, Ness on the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides. It is only five minutes walk to the clean white sandy beaches of the the Atlantic coast which are surrounded by machair rich with bird and plant life. Walking west for another ten minutes will take you to the Butt of Lewis - the most northerly point on the island - and its famous Lighthouse. North Lewis has been inhabited by man for many thousands of years and his ancient imprint is seen throughout the landscape in standing stones, forts, and castles. Gaelic is spoken as a first language by many local people and there’s a wealth of Gaelic music and folklore to be explored and enjoyed. Wildlife is varied and as well as the many birds and wild flowers for which Lewis is world famous, there are otters, red deer, seals and of course the odd whale or porpoise.
